The free, set-up and user documentation
is very well presented and thorough; however,
some storeowners and developers appreciate
additional teaching perspectives. We recommend
Kerry Watson's OsCommerce User Manual for this
purpose.
It's an easy-to-use guide to osCommerce
using the Administrative Module. An excellent
resource for all user levels.
Here's what others have said:
Clifton Murphy, Hyperactive
Inc. "...this
book is something no storeowner, or web developer
should find themselves without."
Matt McGinnis,
McGinTech "...very
well written... takes all the mystery
out of osCommerce... highly recommend
it to anyone, including experienced
web developers."
This book answers the question "What
do I do now?"
By Ms. R. Anthony "Vger" (Norfolk, Great
Britain)
As the person who answers more
questions than
any other on the osCommerce Community Support Forums
one question which comes up a great deal I can
recite word for word "OK - I've installed
osCommerce, so now what?". This is usually
followed by a list of other questions, which follow
the format of "How do I do this, remove this,
add this, or change this. Well this book fills
that gap.
This book provides ready-made solutions to people
who have installed osCommerce and now wish to change
the way their prototype website looks and feels.
It's not for people who have yet to install osCommerce,
nor is it for people who want to totally break
the mould of the typical osCommerce 'look' with
some advanced programming - but for all those others
caught somewhere in between it's ideal.
